I just wanted to thank you very much for being a part of our wedding over Labor Day. The food was absolutely delicious and beautiful! Multiple people said to me that it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. My favorite appetizer was the stuffed mushroom (was that sausage?).  And John's ice cream sauces were fantastic! In addition to that, you were a pleasure to work with. You guys are so creative and good at what you do!  If you ever need any references, I would be happy to talk with any prospective clients about how great you are!

Dan and I just got back from our Honeymoon and I quickly wanted to drop you both a note to say THANK YOU a million times over for all your hard work and big smiles over our wedding weekend.  All of our guests RAVED about the food.  Dan wont stop bugging me to try to recreate the shrimp on a blue chip.  We went to a wedding this past weekend in Sonoma (a nice way to wind down Bora Bora) for friends who are so called "foodies" and many of our guests were also at this wedding.  So many people came up to me throughout that wedding to let me know how much more they loved your food from the apps to the main courses to the brunch the next day.  You both made the day and decisions so easy for us and just wanted to make sure you knew what a tentpole you were in our weekend and how much we enjoyed having you part of the team.  Thank you so much again!

fantastic the food was. And it was! We actually weren't prepared for how fresh and delicious
everything was going to be. Nancy and John set up a grill just outside the reception area
and cooked for us and our guests the best tasting salmon, steak and grilled vegetables
we've ever had. The icing on the cake was the amazing service we got from them and their

Our wedding is in just under three weeks, and knowing that we have you as our chefs has put our minds at ease -- at a time where everything is coming down to the wire, you are the one vendor that we know we can count on.

Nancy, when we first sat down with you and Jon brought out the first of our tasting... we all looked around the table and knew we would be going with Bird of Paradise. Not only was your food delicious, but you (and Jon!) had real passion, personality and spirit. At a wedding you want everyone there to have the right chemistry and energy and we felt lucky to have met with you (as we had gone to a few other tastings in the area that didn’t have that feeling AT ALL.)

We also very much appreciate that you grow your own vegetables and use them in many of your dishes. The flavor is incredible!

From the minute we first met Nancy, Stacey and I had confidence that Bird of Paradise catering would do a great job. Not only did you do a great job on the food, you delighted everyone with your exceptional service. Your team was friendly, kind and every single one of them seemed to really enjoy taking care of us.

The welcome party at the beach on Friday night was perfect. Your brilliant idea to have hot clam chowder and chili in bread bowls was perfect–and it was as though you arranged for the cool, foggy weather to go with the dinner. Everyone loved the coolness since most guests came from 100 degree weather.

The wedding itself was flawless and there were raves about the “fresh, California cuisine”. You even corrected the one tiny error by the rental company of too tall cocktail table poles so that it went unnoticed. Your homegrown heirloom tomatoes and grilled vegetables were amazing!

Nancy, you are a dream to work with and the fact that you listened carefully to help us create the theme of “casual elegance” is so appreciated. We are getting phone calls and written messages telling us it was the best wedding ever and you were a central part of making that happen.

I am trying to conjure up the appropriate superlatives to describe the food and its presentation, the service and the overall experience so lovingly created during my daughter and new son-in-law's wedding weekend by Nancy, Jon and their staff, but they all fall short. Everyone's expectations were so far exceeded, i am dumbfounded. From the casual rehearsal dinner on the beach for 60 guests to the beautifully presented family-style dinner reception for 350, every bowl filled and every platter passed cradled something beautiful, delicious and delectable-and, with that many people to feed, we were just hoping for "plenty of" and "the appropriate temperature." When self-annointed "foodies" tell you they are having the best wedding food (or any food) they've ever had, as a hostess, you heave a big sigh of relief. Bottom line, if you're planning a wedding or any special event, take the advice from those who have passed through to "the other side" and save yourself a whole lot of time, effort and angst...run to Paradise Catering in Carmel Valley CA and procure their services. Their name is all it implies-their fare is ambrosia.

Your staff was absolutely amazing - I have never been served so well in my entire life (and that includes dinner at Gary Danko, which is the pinnacle of great service!). Our guests gave us so many compliments on what a tremendous catering staff we had. And the food! So delicious.
